Bolu Gölcük Nature Park - Bolu
This artificially created reservoir lake is located 13 kilometers south of Bolu city center. At an elevation of 1217 meters, the lake covers 4.5 hectares and has a circumference of approximately 1300 meters. Surrounded by pine, fir, beech, hornbeam, and mixed trees, the lake offers a magnificent view in all seasons. Surrounded by the extraordinary beauty of nature, the lake is home to a charming "State Guesthouse" belonging to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. In addition to this facility, the lake is also home to a restaurant called "Kır Gazino" (Garden Gazino), a cafeteria, a buffet, a small prayer room, and bungalow-style accommodations. The lake and its surroundings are protected as a "Nature Park" by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. Vehicles are not allowed in this charming and small lake area.
Lake Sapanca - Kocaeli
Lake Sapanca is a freshwater lake located in the eastern part of the Marmara Region, in the eastern half of a long depression connecting the Adapazarı Plain with the İzmit Gulf Trough. Sapanca's shores lie in the eastern province of Sakarya, and Kocaeli lies on the western edge. Its basin covers 252 square kilometers. Its surface area is 47 square kilometers. Its east-west length is 17 kilometers and its north-south width is 5 kilometers. Its elevation above sea level is 31 meters. The Ender location is 61 meters. The lake takes its name from the district located on its southern shore. In ancient Turkish sources, it is referred to as Lake Ayan.
Justinian Bridge
Built by the Eastern Roman Emperor Justinian (527-565) between 558 and 560 AD, this stone bridge is 365 meters long, 9.85 meters wide, and has a total of 12 arches. There are traces of an arch at the western end of the bridge, an apsidal structure at the eastern end, and the remains of vaulted structures related to the bridge.
