Our hike to Ulukaya Waterfall, Kemerli Cave, Kemerli Village, and Alıçlı Village, which have been the subject of love legends, is a half-day nature photography and hiking route. Accompanied by a professional guide, the tour includes information on nature, geography, fauna, flora, and geology, as well as basic photography training.
The tour is completely free, but space is limited. Departing from Karabük and Safranbolu, this tour is a moderately challenging route, totaling 8 km, including a 1300-meter steep climb and descent, and a 5 km gently steep descent. Our vehicles depart from Safranbolu around 8:30 AM and arrive at Kemerli Village around 10:00 AM. After a brief briefing, the hike begins. First, we climb a 1300-meter steep slope to reach Kemerli Cave, located 990 meters above sea level. After a short photo break at Kemerli Cave, considered one of the finest examples of karst caves, we return to Kemerli Village, where we started. We then walk 3 km to Alıçlı Village, followed by another 3 km to Ulukaya Waterfall. Here, after enjoying a delicious gözleme (Turkish flatbread) and tea, we board our waiting buses and begin our return journey.
Hiking Rules:
Smoking is strictly prohibited during the hike. (Smoking is permitted during short breaks, provided cigarette butts are not discarded in nature.)
Alcohol consumption is prohibited during the hike or breaks.
During the hike, one lead guide and one rear guide will accompany the group, and the hike will take place between these two guides.
